Gabicce Mare is a lovely seaside resort on the Adriatic coast , the northest municipality of the Marche region, with its history, culture, art and gastronomy. Its touristic vein is due to its territory, rich of incomparable natural beauties. Its geographic position is unique: from the wide Romagna plain, there you see the high cliff of Colle San Bartolo emerging suddenly just over the sea, a privileged, unequaled view point on the Adriatic sea. From Gabicce Mare, riding on a suggestive panoramic route ( which will be entered in the official Championship route) you can reach the ancient village of Gabicce Monte, which preserves interesting historical and artistic pieces.
Gabicce Mare has always been near to the world of both professional and non-professional cycling. Every year the “Giro d’ Italia” passes through Gabicce Mare and every year an International cycling meeting, attracting cyclists from all over the world is held here. That is why Gabicce Mare has been chosen by AIJC (The International Association of Cycling Journalists) to host the 12th edition of the World Press Cycling Championship.
